Ripley’s Believe It or Not in the Wisconsin Dells is one of more than a handful of activities that are not Wisconsin Dells Waterparks. It’s a great break from the water, especially if the weather is not cooperating. Located on Broadway (also known as the downtown strip), Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Wisconsin Dells is surrounded by a hum of activity with other attractions lining the streets from a 4D Special FX Theater to the Swiss Maid Fudge Shop to the staple watering hole since 1947, Nig’s Bar. But Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Wisconsin Dells is one of those attractions that is great fun for the entire family.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not History
The franchise was developed by Robert LeRoy Ripley as a cartoon feature in the newspaper in 1918 but it wasn’t until 1919 that it garnered the noted name Believe It or Not. Although originally focusing on sports the feature expanded and became syndicated in newspapers across the country, moved into radio, television and movies and eventually the internet and computer gaming.
