In Tudor times (1485 -1603), the chief characteristics of house exteriors were the half-timbered and plastered walls, overhanging (jettied) upper floors, windows of small pieces of glass held by lead strips, and heavy wooden doors with large iron hinges. All these things can be duplicated in 1:12 scale to make a Tudor dolls house to be proud of.
The Roof of a Tudor Dolls House
Tudor houses were roofed with thatch, or tiles made of stone or clay. They were quite steep to house an attic or storage space.
