Historic Atlanta
In 1930, Atlanta hosted the premiere of Gone With the Wind, with the reception of the film's premiere at the Georgian Terrace Hotel, which still exists with its elegance, southern grace as well as a top restaurant. The Georgia Terrace Hotel is across from the historic Fox Theater that allows one to step in to the Arabian Nights for Broadway plays, musicians and other touring acts that come to Atlanta. The area known as "Sweet Auburn" is the location of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic site. This area was considered the thriving center for Black enterprise in Atlanta from the 1890's to the 1940's and is the birthplace of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Martin Luther King, Jr. Explore Dr. King's birth home and museum located at The King's Center.
