JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- Three people are facing drug-related charges and a pit bull is dead after Chautauqua County investigators searched a Jamestown, N.Y., apartment.


Two men and a 17-year-old girl, all of the 100 block of Barrows Street in Jamestown, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. The men also face a charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance, authorities said.


The three were taken into custody after task force members and Jamestown police executed a search warrant on Friday at 6:20 p.m. at 146 Barrows St., according to a news release.


The dog was killed when it attacked the first officers entering the apartment, investigators said.


Marijuana, crack cocaine and a large cache of U.S. currency were found inside the residence, investigators said.
