Cape Town is the jewel of South Africa. Situated at the tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, this spectacular city, which lies nestled against the backdrop of Table Mountain, is home to a variety of culture, food, scenery and is genuine holiday heaven. It is a city which shows all that is great about the Rainbow Nation.

Isn't it nice for our homeschoolers to have books featuring stories about learning outside the classroom setting and featuring homeschooling characters? I'm always glad to discover a story that doesn't present a child's world as revolving around school.

Most children of Cooleemee Elementary School readily recognize Lynn Rumley, the executive director of the Textile Heritage Center. Mrs. Rumley, along with more than fifteen active local resident volunteers, offers educational programs that provide hands-on history and heritage lessons. Conveniently located in sight of the elementary school, the Textile Heritage Center offers a close-up look of different aspects of life in Cooleemee’s past.

Residents of Grand Rapids, Holland, Muskegon and many other surrounding cities frequent the RiverTown Crossings Mall in Grandville, a suburb of southwest Grand Rapids. On any given weekend, the mall can be so busy that it is difficult to even find a place to park in the lot.
